Joint scientific symposium promotes cooperation between the departments of chemical engineering of Hanoi University of Science and Technology and The University of Seoul

On the morning of January 23, the Department of Chemical Engineering, School of Chemistry and Life Sciences, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) welcomed a delegation from the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Seoul (Republic of Korea) for a working session and joint scientific symposium, marking a new milestone in bilateral academic cooperation.

The University of Seoul delegation included Professors Min Kim, Sun Hong Kim, and Joonjae Ryu. Representing HUST were leaders and faculty members of the Department of Chemical Engineering and related units, along with a large number of doctoral candidates and students.
 
Overview of the meeting.

The event was part of a series of cooperative activities following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two sides in February 2025, focusing on research, training, and academic exchange. During the first year of implementation, the two institutions have promoted various joint activities, including the preparation of a proposal for a bilateral Vietnam–Korea research project.
 
Prof. Min Kim presented "Green Pathways to Next-Generation Perovskite Optoelectronics: Nanostructure Engineering and Sustainable Processing"

Professors from the University of Seoul delivered several scientific presentations, highlighting research on next-generation perovskite materials, soft materials for wearable electronics, and system design for clean fuel production.
 
Prof. Joonjae Ryu presented "System-Level Design and Optimization Frameworks for Clean Fuel Production"

HUST contributed presentations on biomaterials derived from agricultural by-products, analytical chemistry, and paper and packaging technology, along with a joint discussion session on research directions, collaborative teaching, and faculty and student exchange programs.
 
Prof. Phan Huy Hoang presented "Refineries of Agriculture residue into bioproducts for sustainable applications: The new approach and potentials"

The symposium was highly regarded as an effective collaborative activity, helping to concretize the commitments outlined in the MoU and opening up opportunities for long-term and sustainable cooperation between Hanoi University of Science and Technology and the University of Seoul in the coming years.
