Hanoi University of Science and Technology signs MOU with Ajinomoto Vietnam Co., LTD. on research cooperation and human resource development

On the morning of March 12, 2026, in Room 222, C1 Building, Hanoi University of Science and Technology held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ajinomoto Vietnam Co., Ltd.. The event marked a new step in the partnership between the university and the company, aiming to promote research activities, innovation and the development of high-quality human resources.

The ceremony was attended by leaders from both organizations as well as representatives from specialized units, scientists and administrative staff of the university.
Representing Ajinomoto Vietnam were Mr. Tsutomu Nara, General Director; Mr. Tetsuya Osawa, Deputy General Director; and Mr. Nguyen Van Trung, General Director, together with representatives from the company’s functional departments.

From the university side, participants included Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang, President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Dac Trung, Director of the Office of International Cooperation; and representatives from several administrative departments. Leaders and scientists from the School of Chemistry and Life Sciences also attended the event.

During the meeting, representatives from both sides discussed their vision and cooperation orientation for the coming period, focusing on strengthening collaboration between the university and the enterprise in order to promote innovation, leverage scientific research potential and create opportunities for students and researchers to access industrial environments and real-world production practices.
According to the MOU, the two parties agreed to cooperate in several areas. A key focus will be promoting innovation activities by identifying and evaluating research topics, startup projects and initiatives currently being incubated at the university, particularly in areas aligned with Ajinomoto Vietnam’s strategic priorities such as Food & Wellness, green technology and healthcare.
In addition, both organizations will continue to expand existing cooperation activities, including visits to factories and corporate offices, scientific seminars, professional workshops and conferences for lecturers, researchers and technical experts from both sides. Internship programs, career orientation activities and recruitment opportunities for students of Hanoi University of Science and Technology at Ajinomoto Vietnam will also be strengthened in the coming period.
Another important aspect of the cooperation is the joint identification and development of promising research projects and startup initiatives originating from the university’s schools, institutes and research units. Through joint evaluation and discussion, suitable projects may be selected for further collaboration, aiming toward technological solutions and sustainable business models.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Ajinomoto Vietnam Co., Ltd. marks an important milestone in strengthening collaboration between academia and industry. The agreement not only opens up new opportunities for cooperation in research, innovation and human resource development, but also contributes to advancing science and technology as well as sustainable development solutions in Vietnam.
