1. General introduction
The Microbial Technology Group is one of three specialized technical groups of the Faculty of Bioengineering, established on December 11, 2023 under decision 31/QD-SCLS of the Dean of the School of Chemistry and Life Sciences
The Microbiology Technology group converges resources for training, research, development and application of microorganisms and other biological agents under the Faculty of Bioengineering, School of Chemistry and Life Sciences. Our professional team is now in charge of teaching training modules related to science and technology research – exploitation of microbial applications for all levels of training at the school (Bachelor, Engineer, Master, Doctorate), with two types of domestic training and international joint training. At the same time, it has been successfully implementing many research works of high scientific and technological value and practice. Some of our specific science and technology activities are as follows:

About training: The Microbiology Technology group is in charge of teaching modules on: general microbiology, applied microbiology as well as technology modules exploiting the application of microorganisms for training programs of Bioengineering, Food Engineering, Biomedical Engineering. In 3 years 2020-2023, the Microbiology Technology Specialization Group has transmitted to more than 1200 students to complete training content in microbiological technology and fermentation technology. Students and trainees through microbiological technology majors are equipped with in-depth knowledge of applied biology, microbiology, modern fermentation technology (research, development - establishment - inspection - supervision of fermentation processes), about separation treatment technology - purification - completion of products with biological activity of economic value tall... We are committed to conveying to students an up-to-date, modern knowledge that meets the international accreditation quality level and has practical application value; so that when completing specialized training contents, students are qualified to undertake jobs in microbiological technology in production facilities, have the capacity to participate in start-ups, or are eligible to connect to continue higher training in industrialized countries.
3. Research directions of the specialized group
About scientific and technological research and development:
- In the last 5 years (2018-2023), the Microbiological Technology group has been implementing 23 projects (07 agricultural levels, 07 and ministerial levels, 03 international cooperation projects); has published 39 international articles and 144 domestic articles and scientific societies; 03 international patents and 11 Useful Solutions.
- Currently, the Microbiological Technology group is willing to cooperate in transferring many new application technology solutions into practice, for example: Fermentation technology to produce nattokinase, probiotic spores, polysaccharopeptide from Trametes versicolor mushroom .., Wastewater biological treatment technology, Urban household waste biological treatment technology without emission of compost odor pollution and leachate pollution garbage... The Microbiological Technology Group is ready to provide priority resources for cooperation projects with factories, microbiological technology enterprises or related economic partners, to contribute to solving challenges from practical production or to improve the quality of science and technology for new products.
