Project Topics: Rational design of highly efficient nanomaterials for green electrochemistry applications.
Research Content: We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research group, focusing on the rational design and development of innovative nanomaterials for green electrochemistry applications. This project aims to address critical challenges in the field of sustainable energy by developing highly efficient electrocatalysts for use in proton exchange membrane water electrolysers/fuel cells, CO2 reduction and other energy conversion technologies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on an interdisciplinary project that combines materials science, nanotechnology, electrochemistry, and computational modelling.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Synthesis and characterization of advanced nanomaterials

  • Optimization of electrocatalytic performance.

  • Collaboration for advanced material characterization and theoretical modelling.

  • Data analysis, presentation, and publication of high-impact research articles.

Scholarship: Nanyang Research Scholarship covers tuition fees (4 years) and monthly stipends (3200 SGD/month).
Candidate Requirements:

  • A strong academic background in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related discipline.

  • Experience with nanomaterial synthesis or chemistry research is desirable.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Good written and oral communication skills in English (No GRE or IELTS required).
