On September 7, 2026, the 5th Scientific Seminar on Water Environment for Young Researchers’ Network (WEYN 2026) was held at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) in Hanoi, Vietnam.
The seminar aimed to promote international exchange and networking among young researchers and students working in the fields of water and environmental engineering. Students and faculty members from Nagaoka University of Technology, the University of Yamanashi, other universities and colleges in Japan, and HUST participated in the event.
The seminar attracted a large number of young researchers and students.
The seminar opened with remarks by Assoc. Prof. Chu Ky Son, Dean of the School of Chemistry and Life Sciences at HUST, followed by a welcome address by Prof. Kei Nishida of the University of Yamanashi.

A networking session featuring self-introductions, group discussions, and ice-breaking activities was then held to encourage interaction among the participants.

During the two poster sessions, a total of 40 research presentations were delivered, providing participants with opportunities to share their latest research findings and engage in active discussions on a wide range of topics related to water and environmental engineering.

WEYN 2026 provided a valuable opportunity for young researchers and students from Japan and Vietnam to learn about each other’s research, exchange ideas, and establish new academic connections that may lead to future collaboration.
