[CH2] Chemistry

1. General Introduction:

The Department of Chemistry is a long-standing traditional training field at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology. This field has applied knowledge of chemistry and related natural sciences to research and develop many practical products for daily life. Choosing the Chemistry Department (CH2) for study, research, and personal development is a career orientation for many students across the country who are passionate about chemistry. Along with the trend of Industry 4.0 development, the Chemistry Department (CH2) is one of the interesting and attractive fields that attracts the attention of many high school graduates every year. With a 4-year undergraduate program and a 4+1.5-year integrated bachelor-master program, students majoring in Chemistry (CH2) at the Faculty of Chemistry and Life Sciences will be a solid human resource for many research and chemical business companies nationwide.

With a quality-assured training program accredited according to AUN-QA standards, students will have the opportunity to choose from four main specialized directions in the Chemistry Department (CH2) that are suitable for their abilities and interests:

• Inorganic Chemistry

• Organic Chemistry

• Analytical Chemistry

• Physical Chemistry

2. Information about the education program:

The curriculum of the CH2 program not only provides students with basic knowledge blocks, foundational and specialized knowledge but also equips them with skills to independently update their knowledge, conduct research independently and creatively, explore practical problems, and apply knowledge of chemistry and creative scientific and technical achievements to solve real-world issues.

Linked Training Program:

- The linked training program between Monash University (MONASH) Australia and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) follows a 3+1+1.5 structure. Accordingly, students who meet the requirements will complete 3 years out of the 4-year Bachelor of Science program (Chemistry – CH2) at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and complete 1 year (the third year) of the Bachelor of Science program majoring in Chemistry at Monash University, Australia. Upon completion of the program, students will be awarded a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Chemistry from Monash University, Australia, and will have the opportunity to pursue a Master's degree at Monash University, Australia (1.5 years).

- The dual-degree Master of Science program between ROSTOCK and HUST follows a 1+1 structure. Accordingly, students who meet the requirements and complete the first year of the dual-degree Master of Science program at Hanoi University of Science and Technology will have the opportunity to receive a scholarship for the second year at UR/LIKAT (Rostock), Germany. Upon completion, students will be awarded a Master of Science degree majoring in Chemistry from Hanoi University of Science and Technology and the University of Rostock, Germany.
