SUMMARY OF THE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY FOR HANOI UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PERIOD 2017-2025


I. OBJECTIVES
1. Developing into a multi-disciplinary research university with a core focus on engineering and technology. This involves organizing specialized units into various schools and faculties, along with affiliated research institutes and centers.
2. Establishing a successful, sustainable model of a fully autonomous university, characterized by advanced governance, a strong financial system, and modern campus infrastructure and facilities comparable to regional standards.
3. Creating a creative, open, and international academic environment that attracts top students and outstanding scholars from both domestic and international sources for study, research, and employment.
4. Enhancing the quality of all educational programs to meet high regional or international accreditation standards, positioning the University among the top in the region based on graduate employability rankings.
5. Forming a regional center of technological innovation excellence, attracting substantial funding and investment from the government, organizations, and businesses both domestically and internationally, and positioning the University among the top in the region based on innovation capacity rankings.

II. DEVELOPMENT ORIENTATIONS
1. Innovating university governance according to a corporate model, implementing autonomy coupled with social responsibility, considering learners as the main focus and center of all activities. Education and research should primarily serve the socio-economic development of the country, while also producing globally competitive outputs; respecting market mechanisms without veering towards commercialization.
2. Developing with an orientation towards international integration, applying regional and international quality standards, selectively adopting successful models and experiences from renowned universities worldwide; focusing on substantial capacity building while aligning with international ranking criteria.
3. Focusing on quality development, without increasing the overall scale of training; concentrating on leveraging and enhancing core strengths in high-quality training, advanced level training, and cutting-edge research, prioritizing key fields of science and technology crucial to the knowledge economy and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
4. Developing broad-based training programs with postgraduate orientations in either application fields or research fields, equipping students with a solid foundational knowledge while emphasizing the development of practical professional skills and adaptability in an international environment. Strongly innovating the organization of training, applying new educational technologies, and promoting self-learning through research, creativity, and experience.
5. Harmoniously developing and tightly integrating fundamental research, applied research, and developmental research; linking research with education, innovation, and entrepreneurship, promoting the transfer of knowledge and commercialization of products; simultaneously enhancing research achievements and developing research potential.
