Argentine Ambassador Meets with the HUST and School of Chemistry and Life sciences

On the morning of December 3, 2024, as part of a working visit by the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) of Argentina to Vietnam, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Argentina to Vietnam, Mr. Marcos Antonio Bednarski, visited Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST). On this occasion, he and members of the delegation held a meeting with Associate Professor Chu Ky Son, Dean of the School of Chemistry and Life Sciences (SCLS), to discuss collaborative opportunities.

The Argentine delegation included Ambassador Marcos Antonio Bednarski, Deputy Ambassador Francisco José Franco Martínez, Dr. Luciana Rosetti – Researcher at INTA, and Mr. Gonzalo Benítez Draghi – International Relations Officer of the Institute.
On behalf of the School of Chemistry and Life Sciences, the delegation was received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chu Ky Son – Dean; Dr. Dao Huy Toan – Deputy Head of the Administration Office; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thu Trang and Dr. Nguyen Tien Cuong – Vice Heads of the Faculty of Food Technology; and Dr. Nguyen Chinh Nghia.

Overview of the meeting

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Chu Ky Son expressed his pleasure in welcoming Ambassador Marcos Antonio Bednarski and the INTA delegation. He emphasized his aspirations to expand cooperation in the field of food technology between the two institutions.

Assoc. Prof. Vu Thu Trang highlighted the milestones in the collaboration between HUST and INTA, including HUST’s delegation visit to INTA in 2018, the successful joint scientific conference on dairy products in 2019, and INTA’s online training courses for 120 HUST students in 2021. She added, “The FOAR manpower development project will continue next year, featuring exchanges of experts from Argentina to Vietnam and vice versa to develop dairy and meat products.”

Ambassador Marcos Antonio Bednarski, in response, expressed his admiration for the research achievements of the School of Chemistry and Life Sciences, particularly in food technology. He anticipated the success of the collaborative cheese research and production project between INTA and SCLS, describing the partnership as a “perfect combination.”

The meeting was not only an opportunity for professional discussions but also a cultural exchange between the two nations. Leaders from both sides exchanged meaningful gifts that reflected their respective cultural identities, fostering a warm and friendly atmosphere.
