Delegation from Thuringia State (Federal Republic of Germany) Visits and Works with the School of Chemistry and Life: Promoting Cooperation in Research, Education, and Technology Transfer

On the afternoon of November 5, as part of the activities marking the 50th anniversary of Vietnam–Germany diplomatic relations (1975–2025), the School of Chemistry and Life Sciences – Hanoi University of Science and Technology (SCLS-HUST) had the honor of welcoming the delegation from Thuringia State (Federal Republic of Germany), led by Mr. Marcus Malsch, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Agriculture, and Rural Development of Thuringia.The visit was a meaningful event within the anniversary celebrations, contributing to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries in the fields of science–technology and education–training.
During the meeting, representatives from both sides exchanged ideas and shared directions for collaboration in research, training, and technology transfer — particularly in the areas of engineering–industry, food processing technology, and sustainable agriculture.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Marcus Malsch expressed his pleasure in working with Hanoi University of Science and Technology, one of Vietnam’s leading institutions in engineering education and research. He affirmed that Vietnam is a strategic partner of Thuringia in the fields of industry, agriculture, and high-quality human resource development, and expressed his desire to expand practical cooperation with Vietnamese institutes, universities, and enterprises.
The German delegation included several prominent enterprises and organizations, such as:
- Glatt Engineering Co., Ltd., a provider of technological process solutions in the food and animal feed processing industries;
- Schadinis Company, a startup specializing in starch technology;
- Schmalkalden Meat and Sausage Co., Ltd. and Sauels Co., Ltd., leading brands in the European food processing sector;
- Along with Hanoi IEC Co., Ltd., the official commercial representative of the Thuringia Economic Development Agency (LEG Thuringia) in Vietnam, led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, Managing Director and Special Representative of LEG Thuringia.
Representing Hanoi University of Science and Technology, attendees included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dac Trung, Head of the Cooperation and International Affairs Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chu Ky Son, Dean of the School of Chemistry and Life Sciences; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyen, Vice Dean; together with leading scientists and lecturers in chemical engineering and food technology.
HUST representatives affirmed the university’s commitment to fostering deep and comprehensive cooperation with German partners in research, innovation, and particularly in technology transfer for sustainable development.
The meeting took place in a spirit of openness, cooperation, and mutual trust. Both sides agreed to continue exchanging information and move toward signing specific cooperation agreements in training, applied research, and technology development in the near future.
The visit of the Thuringia delegation not only reflected the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Germany but also opened up new prospects for cooperation in the era of global integration, contributing to the realization of sustainable development goals for both nations.
