Studying Food Engineering is not only about exploring production technologies or complex processing systems — it is also a journey of discovering the world, experiencing culture, and understanding people.
4 Students received Certificate of attendance
From October 6 to 13, 2025, four students from the School of Chemical and Life Sciences (SCLS), Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) had a meaningful academic exchange trip to Japan under the Advantura Scholarship Program, which provided round-trip airfare for participants.
The trip offered not only valuable professional lessons but also an “emotional voyage,” where each day unfolded as a new page of growth and self-discovery.
🐟 Abecho Company (Kesennuma) – Where Responsibility Shines Through Every Slice of Fish
Abecho is the pride of Kesennuma, a coastal city known for its modern seafood processing facilities and the dedication of its people.
Watching the employees work so meticulously and patiently left a strong impression on the SCLS students.
Phan Cẩm Hồng (Advanced Program in Food Engineering – Class of K67) shared with a smile: “At Abecho, even the fish are treated with such care — it really made us realize we should be more meticulous in everything we do, too!”
🥃 Nikka Whisky Factory (Sendai) – Learning Patience from Every Drop of Whisky
At the Nikka Whisky Factory, the students witnessed a perfect harmony between science and art.
Each drop of whisky is a masterpiece shaped by time, climate, and human devotion.
As the tour guide remarked, “Making whisky requires patience — rushing only ruins the flavor,”
Nguyễn Ngọc Mai (Advanced Program in Food Engineering – Class of K67) smiled and said: “That’s definitely a lesson I’ll apply to my thesis writing!”
🍫 Meiji Factory (Sakado) – When Technology Creates Sweet Happiness
The famous Meiji Factory, a beloved name from everyone’s childhood, became a lively classroom for HUST students.
Not only were they amazed by the advanced production lines, but they also had the chance to “taste” the spirit of creativity — where every piece of chocolate embodies safety, trust, and joy.
🐡 Kanedai Company (Kesennuma) – Professional in Every Detail, Warm in Every Smile
The students were deeply impressed by the professionalism, kindness, and hospitality of the Kanedai Company’s representatives.
Nguyễn Quỳnh Anh (Advanced Program in Food Engineering – Class of K66) emotionally shared: “We didn’t just learn about food processing — we also learned how the Japanese value and respect one another in even the smallest gestures.”
💫 Learning to Understand, to Feel, and to Grow
The 2025 Japan trip gave SCLS students experiences that went far beyond textbooks.
Each factory, each person, and each story helped them realize that behind every perfect product lies a world of passion, effort, and responsibility.
This journey not only broadened their academic horizons but also opened their hearts — helping them understand that studying Food Engineering is not just about learning to do, but learning to live and contribute.
