1. History
The Group of Silicate Materials Technology originated from the former Department of Silicate Materials Technology, which has developed alongside Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) since its founding in 1956. Currently, the Group is part of the School of Chemical Engineering, under the School of Chemistry and Life Sciences, HUST.Over the decades, numerous generations of graduates have gone on to make significant contributions as engineers, master's and doctoral researchers, playing vital roles in society. The Group has also conducted many scientific research projects and provided technical consultancy services for various enterprises, earning a strong reputation in the industry.

2. Facilities:
The Group of Silicate Materials Technology currently manages one office, one lecture room, and four specialized laboratories. These facilities are equipped with tools, instruments, raw materials, and chemicals to support research activities by faculty, researchers, and students. |

3. Education and Training:
- Training levels: Bachelor – Engineer – Master – Doctor- Training capacity: Bachelor, Engineer: 30–60 students/intake
Master, Doctor: 20–30 students/intake

- Core Competencies in Silicate Materials Technology:
- Understanding the characteristics and properties of various raw materials and how to formulate batch compositions for silicate-based products
- Mastering the technological processes for manufacturing traditional and innovative silicate products
- Grasping the structural principles, operational mechanisms, and automatic control systems of equipment, machinery, and kilns in production lines
- Gaining practical skills in material analysis, experimentation, technology management, and soft skills relevant to manufacturing and research
4. Scientific Research and Technology Transfer:
The Group has conducted numerous research projects at institutional, ministerial, and national levels.Many projects have been successfully applied in real-world production settings.
Research findings have been published in reputable national and international journals.
The Group has provided technical consultancy and support to manufacturing and raw material processing enterprises.
It collaborates with major corporations and research institutes such as Viglacera, VICEM, the Institute for Building Materials, and the Institute for Ceramics and Glass Technology.
The Group also advises on energy-saving and CO₂ emission reduction projects in the silicate materials sector.
