1. General Introduction:
 

- Biotechnology – “The science disciplines of humanity's future” – a broad field related to the development of technology based on living organisms and their biological processes to create products applicable in medicine, food, agriculture, environment, and some other industries.
- Bioengineering is a field that applies technical tools and knowledge from natural sciences on the foundation of biotechnology to provide specific useful solutions for life. The Biological Engineering program, which started at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 1996, not only provides students with knowledge of Biotechnology but also includes knowledge of natural sciences and engineering to help students easily adapt to various jobs upon graduation. 
 

The specialized modules of the Bachelor of Bioengineering program:

• Environmental Biotechnology

• Food Biotechnology

• Industrial Biotechnology

• Molecular Biological and Cell Engineering

2. Information about the education program:

In June 2019, the Bioengineering education program was internationally accredited and evaluated by the prestigious organization AUN-QA!

3. Job opportunities:

• Working in businesses, companies, manufacturing plants, research units, regulatory agencies, international organizations in fields such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, food, industry, agriculture, and environment;

• Teaching, researching technology development, product development in biotechnology, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, food, and environmental technology at universities and research institutes;

• Developing technology for producing biological products; organizing, managing, and operating production; technology consulting; business in biological products;

• Consulting on design, supervision, operation of biotechnology processes and equipment.

4. Scholarship opportunities, study support:

• In addition to scholarships from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (with a total value of 60 billion VND for the academic year 2023-2024), students with outstanding academic achievements can receive scholarships from the Institute and its partner companies.

• Students have the opportunity to participate in scientific research and receive financial support from projects and initiatives starting from the third year.

• Postgraduate scholarships are available for students enrolled in the Bachelor-Master integrated program.

• Students with excellent academic performance have the opportunity to receive internships scholarships for 1-6 months in Japan, South Korea, Germany, France, etc.
