[BF-E19] Bioengineering-ELITECH

The Advanced Program in Biotechnology (Elitech Bioengineering) will commence admissions in 2023 with the aim of producing high-quality human resources in Biotechnology oriented towards the field of Medicine and towards international integration - global citizens. This is also a key focus area under the priority direction of Health Sciences and Technology of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

In Elitech programs, students are focused on:

• Studying in small-sized classes;

• Being guided by proficient instructors with in-depth curriculum and advanced foreign language content;

• Creating opportunities to participate in interdisciplinary research and work in groups from the early years;

• Interning to solve practical business problems during the learning process.

The training program framework:

• "The advanced program framework is designed in collaboration with Osaka University, Japan (ranked 68th in the world in 2023), Tokyo Institute of Technology (ranked 55th in the world in 2023), as well as leveraging the existing strengths of the Biomedical Engineering program.

The Elitech Biomedical Engineering program at Hanoi University of Science and Technology provides learners with:

• Foundational and core knowledge of biotechnology, technologies, and techniques to align with the applied orientation in Medicine and Pharmacy.

• Skills in participating in production organization, participating in the design and evaluation of technological solutions, equipment, and the quality of bioproducts.

• Skills and knowledge in identifying and determining technical issues, researching and developing product/technological solutions.

• Project planning and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in using English in communication and professional work, aiming to become a global citizen.

• Personal development skills in a globalized environment.

• Vận hành, bảo dưỡng thiết bị công nghệ sinh học và các lĩnh vực có liên quan;

• Tư vấn thiết kế, giám sát tại các quá trình công nghệ, thiết bị công nghệ sinh học.

• Similar to students in the standard Bioengineering program, but with English as the language of instruction focusing on Medicine, there is involvement of foreign instructors, and priority is given to opportunities for scholarships and exchange programs abroad.

• Small class sizes with students at the center facilitate a more conducive learning environment and closer guidance from teachers, academic advisors, and administrators.

• Students with outstanding academic achievements are prioritized for short-term exchanges abroad and receive scholarships for internships lasting 3-6 months in countries such as Japan, South Korea, and the United States.

• Graduates with good or excellent grades are prioritized for master's degree programs in countries such as Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand.

Apply for the Elitech Program:

• Candidates apply for admission to the Advanced Programs according to the admission regulations of Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Students with a good level of English proficiency will have an advantage in their studies. Those with limited English proficiency will need to take additional language courses during their first year of study. Students who achieve an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher will be given priority to study some second-year-level courses immediately.

• The tuition fee for the Advanced Program is higher than that of the regular program, details of which are specified by Hanoi University of Science and Technology regulations.
